The Idea of the Learning Festival
The Adult Learners’ Festival is a public awareness-raising campaign to promote adult education.
- It encourages the public to try and playfully experience Lifelong Learning. The focus is on active learning whereby a positive learning experience is most important.
- It encourages shared learning and brings people together, regardless of age or background.
- It helps to reduce competition and invites educational institutions of all sectors to cooperate.
- It motivates cantons and regions to form interest groups and to promote their region through joint activities.
Adult Learners’ festivals (Adult Learners’ Weeks) have been conducted worldwide
since 1996.
